gemstone
JASPER is one of the birth stones listed for the Sun Sign of Virgo. It is also the Mystical birthstone for the month of October.
Jasper is an opaque and fine grained variety of Chalcedony. It is found in all colors including: red, brown, pink, yellow, green, grey/white and shades of blue and purple.
It often contains organic material and mineral oxides which give it interesting patterns, bands and colors.
Jasper was a favorite gem in ancient times.
White Turquoise
Certainly, there is NO such thing as “White Turquoise”! White Turquoise is a name used by jewellers for howlite gemstone. Howlite is an opaque silicate mineral with fine copper toned veins in a web-like pattern.
Howlite gemstone is named after Henry How, a 19th century mineralogist, who found it first in Nova Scotia, Canada.
